Over the past 13 years, ThePornAgency.com has asked almost a million people, ‘why do you want to get into porn, and why now?‘ Working in the porn industry can be a fun, exciting & extremely profitable career choice for men & women of all sexual orientations. In the State of California, porn is a 100% legal & professional industry to get into. Moreover, there are no background checks, drug tests, diploma or degree requirements to become an adult movie performer and most production companies pay same day.

One might imagine that the reasons folks get into porn are as great as the grains of sand on the seashore. Our experience has been that their motivations are a bit more limited than that. Before diving into actual data research (which we are going to do), off the top of the author’s head, I would say that the top three reasons people get into porn are:

1. Quick, easy money
2. To get laid (sexual gratification)
3. To build personal confidence (I’ve heard this a lot)

Let’s take a look at some of ThePornAgency.com models’ stated reasons for getting into porn:

On her application, one of ThePornAgency.com‘s contract models indicated that she wanted to get into porn to have a “legitimate comfortable income”. Once we met face-to-face (on the beach, in our video below), she elaborated “Well, I’ve always wanted to (get into porn) ever since I was younger, so I just think it’s ummm… (sic) I like sex and I don’t see anything wrong with it. So, once I, once I (sic) saw my first porn, ummm… I was like, I was destined to do this.”

Before she even had a performer name, 27-year-old New Yorker Madison Rose stated her motivation to get into porn as follows: “I always wanted to get into porn. I was doing the modeling… I saw Jenna Jameson… she’s like big, famous, everywhere… then I ran into the whole ‘Coco thing’. I said, Coco! With the big fat butt! I said, ‘Oh, I’m the new Coco!‘”

Coincidentally, ThePornAgency.com’s Chinese model applicant by the same name (Coco) stated, on-video, her reason to get into porn as, “My dream is become famous (sic)… for me, another way, like be artist (sic)… is really hard* for me. I think porn is easier for me to get famous. I want to be a lot famous, like Cardi B! (sic)” [*really hard, indeed..haha] That lined up with what she originally stated on her online application: “I want to be rich and famous… A lot money and fame (sic).”

We recently compiled the video below from our in-person interviews with some of ThePornAgency.com’s female models, and we asked each of them why they wanted to get into porn. The most consistent answer was some variation of dream fulfillment. In other words, ‘I’ve thought & dreamt about getting into porn for many years, and I finally decided to “pull the trigger” on doing it‘. Dream fulfillment was followed by sex as a close second most popular reason for their getting into porn. For men that get involved in the straight porn industry, sex is – of course – the top reason.

ThePornAgency.com receives 150 – 200 applications from aspiring pornstars every single day of the year. So far, we’ve gone over some “off the top of my head” reasons why people get into porn, and then we went deep (pun intended) into actual in-person interviews with some of ThePornAgency.com’s female models. Next, we’re going to pull some reasons to get into porn, directly from a few of our recent applications from aspiring pornstars.

18-year-old Nathan R from Douglasville, Georgia, says he wants to get into porn to have “sex experiences“.

Haylee W, an 18-year-old female from Port Huron, Michigan stated she wants to get into porn “…to learn self-confidence. I love having sex and want to experience more and have financial gain, I want to live life good (sic) and get my makeup and nails done whenever I want without worry anymore“.

ThePornAgency.com contract model Dark Fantasy from Carson, California wanted to get into porn to obtain “fame, lots of money, friends, a good time [and] modeling experience,” she stated on her application.

Aspiring gay pornstar Dean A is a kind-hearted young man that’s a volunteer firefighter in his New England town. Dean indicated on his application that he wanted to get into porn “…to be able to use my body and talents to provide other less fortunate people with entertainment to make themselves happy as well as develop and grow my talents further.​” He truly wanted to try and help other people by utilizing his own body to perform on camera. The porn industry could sure use more people with this kind of servant’s attitude & heart.

ThePornAgency.com model Dakota Diamond was very clear on her application when it came to her reasoning to get into porn: “I want to move out of Ohio, pay off school loans, quit school, focus on building a career pertaining to art and fashion“.

Some well-intentioned conservative thinkers have advised never trying anything sexual for the first time, on-camera. On the other hand, we’re all adults here, and that – for the most part – in a FREE Country. Some people have been known to get into porn simply as a safe, easy & straight-forward way to experiment with a new sexual activity or activities that they’ve been curious about. At ThePornAgency.com, we’ve had straight men that are curious about gay sex, sign up as gay-4-pay models. We’ve had females sign up that had never been creampied (refer to the online porn dictionary if you don’t know what that is), but were curious about how it felt. We’ve had many females have their very first lesbian experiences while working with ThePornAgency.com. Our take on it: As long as you’re a legal, consenting adult, and as long as you’ve thought your decision through, as the Hodgetwins always say at the end of each of their videos, you can do whatever the FUCK you wanna do!

As humorous as that may be, that’s also the actual bottom line of the whole matter. Why do people get into porn? Because they WANT to… that’s why!

The deeper question is: Why do people WANT to do porn? We’ve thoroughly answered that here, today:

2. To get “shortcut money”… no college degree needed, no long hours… just quick & easy money for those that have the right look & attitude (a lot of people tend to forget about the last part)
3. Sex! Duh! Humans are naturally wired to desire lots of safe, fun, no-strings-attached sex with attractive, healthy partners… and sometimes to even experiment with new first-time sexual endeavors, in an easy, safe, controlled environment

But that’s not even the most important question. The only people that would read an entire article titled “Why do people get into porn?” are those that have – at some point, and to some extent – said to themselves, “Maybe, just maybe, I could get into porn.” So the most important question of the day is:
