  • Amateur (adjective): (of a porn scene) typically produced on a low budget, and in a short time. Amateur scenes will typically be shot by a single individual that simultaneously takes on the roles of director, camera person, sound engineer, director of photography and – sometimes – even performer.
  • Anti-HCV (noun): Testing for an infection by the Hepatitis C virus. All pornstars are required by the professional porn industry to be tested every 14 to 28 days for all STDs including HIV, and that by more stringent & thorough testing than civilians get done at their doctor or clinic. Professional pornstars are therefore cleaner (safer to have unprotected sex with), per capita, than civilians in most areas.
  • ATM (adjective or verb): Ass-to-Mouth. A porn scene involving anal sex in which a penis is inserted into a performer’s anus, removed, and then immediately inserted into the performer’s mouth. ATM is one of the porn industry words that has a totally different meaning when used in the civilian world.
  • AVN (proper noun): Adult Video News. Publisher of digital & print porn industry business news. AVN is also the host of the AVN & GayVN Adult Movie Awards Shows & the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo (all held annually, in January, in Las Vegas, Nevada).
  • B/G (adjective): Boy/girl. The actual term used in the actual porn industry to describe a vaginal sex (coitus) scene between a man and a woman. Although the usage of “M/F” (male/female) or “M/W” (man/woman) might represent more intuitive options to a layperson or someone outside the industry, neither is regularly used in the professional porn industry. The usage of “M/F” or “M/W” instead of “B/G” or “Boy/Girl” by a self-proclaimed talent agent/agency, porn producer/production company, etc. should raise a red flag that the individual or group might not be a part of the actual professional porn industry. Blowjob scenes between a male & a female that do not include vaginal or anal sex would generally not be considered a boy/girl scene. If a B/G scene involves anal sex, it’s referred to as a “Boy/Girl Anal” scene.
  • BDSM (noun or adjective): Bondage, Domination, Sadomasochism. A type of porn movie involving at least one performer that is a “dominant” and at least one other that is a “submissive”, often involving the use of tools or apparatus including whips, chains, handcuffs, ropes, gag balls, etc. BDSM frequently involves the infliction/receipt of pain. There are many sub-types of BDSM pornography.
  • Blowbang (noun or adjective): Also known as Bukkake. This type of pornography usually involves a single performer that performs fellatio (oral sex on a penis) with more than 2 other performers.
  • Casting Couch (noun or adjective): The genre of pornography dedicated to a “casting” or “audition” scenario, typically involving a new-to-the-industry performer, or the actual couch on which this type of porn scene is performed upon.casting couch porn word
  • CFNM (adjective): Clothed Female / Nude Male. Porn scenes in which the female is (at least partially) clothed, while the male is fully nude.
Civilian: A person that is not professionally involved in the industry.
  • CMNF (adjective): Clothed Male / Nude Female. Porn scenes in which the male is (at least partially) clothed, while the female is fully nude.
  • DP (adjective or noun): Double penetration. In a boy/boy/girl sex scene, this is the sexual act of a female receiving one of the male performer’s penises in her vagina, and the other in her anus, both simultaneously. If she is performing oral sex on one male performer, while simultaneously being fucked (anally or vaginally) by only a single cock, this does not qualify as DP. This is one of the porn industry words that could have 2 different meanings, as professional Hollywood feature films, and some high-end porn films will hire a DP (director of photography).
  • Creampie (adjective or noun): Internal ejaculation. A porn scene in which a male performer ejaculates inside the anus or vagina of a co-performer. Creampie, of course, is another of the porn industry words that has a completely different meaning in the civilian world. Here at The Porn Agency, we enjoy both.
  • Facial (adjective or noun): A porn scene in which a male performer ejaculates on the face of a co-performer. Facial is yet another of the porn industry words that has a completely different meaning in the civilian world.
  • FSC (proper noun): Free Speech Coalition. A trade association for the porn industry that focuses on the legal rights of producers, performers and other industry stakeholders.
  • G/G (adjective): Girl/girl. Lesbian sex that may or may not involve the use of sex toys. In the professional porn industry, girl/girl sex scenes typically pay less money (to the performers) than boy/girl scenes & are produced significantly less frequently than boy/girl scenes.
  • Gangbang (noun or adjective): This type of pornography usually involves a single performer that is penetrated by more than two other performers. Some gangbangs involve more than 50 males fucking the “star of the show”.
  • Golden Shower (noun or adjective): A type of porn scene involving a performer urinating on another.
  • Gonzo (adjective): (of a porn scene) filmed with the performer(s) exhibiting an awareness of the camera(s). Gonzo porn includes, but is not limited to, POV porn. The cameraman or director will sometimes be heard conversing with the performers, in gonzo pornography.porn industry words
  • GSP (noun): Gold Standard Panel. The “gold standard” in adult industry testing, provided by Talent Testing Service. Thorough, in-depth testing for STDs for porn performers.
  • HBsAg (noun): Testing for the Hepatitis B virus.
  • HIV-1 NAT (noun): Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT) for Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1. The new standard type of HIV testing used in the American porn industry, a more stringent and accurate test, with a shorter window period, than the tests ordered/performed by most “civilian” medical practitioners and clinics.
  • I/R (adjective): Interracial. (Of a filmed/photographed sex scene) involving sexual contact with a black male, by a non-black co-performer. This is, of course, a different meaning than the standard dictionary definition of the word. A sex scene between an Asian male & white woman would not be considered “I/R” or “interracial” in the industry. Nor would a scene between a white man and a black woman. The Porn Agency did not create and does not endorse the usage of this term (or any other porn industry words), in its current meaning. It is, however, the current phraseology that is used in the industry, at large.
  • Mature (adjective): Used to describe an adult performer of older age, or a porn scene/movie involving an older performer(s). Although there is no hard-and-fast minimum age to enter the “mature” category, models between the ages of 18 to 25 are usually not included in it. A woman will usually be classified as “mature” (i.e., “older”) first by the fashion modeling industry, followed later (in chronological order) by the porn industry, the remainder of the entertainment industry and finally by society itself. For example, a 35-year-old woman would by no means be considered a senior citizen by any public society in the world, but – with no experience, and at that age – she will most likely be unable to begin a fruitful career in the fashion modeling industry, and she will also find it more difficult (albeit not impossible) to attract attention from porn producers than her 18 & 19-year-old counterparts.
  • MILF (noun): Mom I’d Like to Fuck. A “mature” porn performer (not necessarily a mother). The age at which a female performer becomes a MILF is not definitively set-in-stone, across the industry. It is easier to define what a MILF is not (for example, an 18 or 19-year-old performer would generally not be considered a MILF).
  • Pickup (noun): The introduction segment of a porn scene, usually shot in a public location, and usually containing dialogue. The “meeting” of the star(s) of the scene, before sexual activity begins. Pickups can occur in a park, on a beach, at a bus stop, etc.
  • Porn Valley (noun): The San Fernando Valley, in Los Angeles, California. Porn Valley was once the undisputed Capital of the American porn industry. Today, there are still many porn production companies with offices & studios in the area.
  • POV (adjective): Point of view. (Of a porn scene) Shot from the perspective of one of the performers. In a boy/girl porn scene, that perspective is usually that of the male.
  • Rimming (verb): Anilingus. One performer licking the anus of another.
  • RPR (noun): Rapid plasma reagin. A test for Syphilis infection.
  • Scene (noun): Typically, a single, complete sexual interaction, filmed and/or photographed. In a typical boy/girl sex scene, the scene will finish shortly after the male ejaculates.
  • TPA (proper noun): The Porn Agency. An international model management Company for aspiring pornstars, both male & female, both straight & gay. The place to start, if one is serious about beginning his or her career in the porn industry.
  • TREP-SURE EIA (noun): A test for Syphilis infection. This is one of the porn industry words that deals with STD testing.
  • TTS (proper noun): Talent Testing Service. One of two “official” adult industry HIV / STD testing centers in the United States. Most large porn production studios will not accept tests from a regular physician’s office or clinic, including Planned Parenthood. Instead, these studios require 14-day or 28-day tests from an “official” porn industry testing center, such as TTS. Professional pornstars are therefore cleaner (safer to have unprotected sex with), per capita, than civilians in most areas.
  • XBIZ (proper noun): X-Business. Publisher of digital & print porn industry business news. XBIZ is also the host of the XBIZ Awards Shows & multiple conferences held in Los Angeles, Miami & Berlin.
